Gayle was excellent as always and also thought of us when the cruise company needed people to more cabins and be given extra on board credit for doing so. Very happy with Gayle and Clean Cruising."

Britannia Overview

Britannia sails out of Southampton to sub-Arctic Norway, the Canary Islands, Mediterranean, Baltic Sea, and around the British Isles. Most cruises on this magnificent British ship are around 7 and 14 nights. In October each year she crosses the Atlantic to Barbados (over 14 nights) for a season of 7 and 14 night cruises in the Caribbean before returning to Southampton in March. This ship is suited to families, singles, young and old. Each age and interest group will find onboard facilities and activities to their liking. Fares are constant throughout the year including school holidays. P&O UK received the ‘Best Value for Money’ 2016 award from Cruise International. Britannia was voted Best New Ocean Ship at the Cruise International Awards 2015.

The 1837 staterooms include Suites, Deluxe Balcony, Outside Balcony, and Inside cabins. For the first time on a P&O ship all outside staterooms have balconies. There are 27 very comfortable single cabins, both inside and with a balcony. Thirty-two cabins are wheelchair accessible, near the elevators, and across all stateroom categories. In-cabin entertainment on large flat screen TVs comes with films on demand. Cabins have a mini-bar, writing desk, tea and coffee making facilities, safe, hair-dryer, bathroom with glass shower screens, and a pamper pack. The layout is roomy, with muted decor and original artworks. All balconies have chairs and table.

Food and Dining

There are three main dining rooms. In the evenings Meridian and Peninsular Restaurants offer Freedom Dining, at the time you wish. The Oriental Restaurant offers traditional dining at two set sitting times at same table throughout the cruise. You can reserve you dining choice ahead. For a Gala Evening expect something special from well-known British chef Marco Pierre White. Specialty dining, for a cover charge, is available in Sindhu for Indian cuisine by Atul Kochhar, and the Glass House for seafood and steaks with wines selected by foodie Olly Smith. If the food whets your culinary aspirations, then head for the dazzling Cooking School with guest instructors invited by British chef James Martin.

Cruising with Britannia is suited to cosmopolitan British tastes. In the Headliners Theatre, with its stunning LED backdrop, take in West End style shows, and comedians you can really have a laugh with. You’ll be surprised when Britannia’s dancers take to the top deck under the stars. Join in yourself, or take lessons, down below on the Crystal Room’s dance floor. The Live Lounge is the venue for singers and bands, turning into a nightclub in the evenings. The Studio is a multi-purpose venue presenting talks, guest speakers, films, plays, game shows and music recitals.
