MSC Divina Overview

MSC Divina is one of the world’s Top 10 Large Resort Ships (Berlitz 2018). Until March 2020 MSC Divina is based in Miami, offering a broad range of itineraries around the Caribbean ranging from 3 to 18 nights. Many cruises call at MSC’s brand new Ocean Cay resort in the Bahamas. These cruises are adapted to its mainly US clientele, in line with MSC’s growing world-wide appeal. Then from April to December 2020 the Divina sails the Western Mediterranean over 7 nights. The circular itinerary includes Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia (for Rome), Palermo and Cagliari. Guests can board the ship at any of the major ports on the circuit. The transatlantic transition cruises between Genoa and Miami around October and March each year can be recommended, at a very low fare. Some transatlantic cruises call at New York and Bermuda. Accommodation

Of her 1,751 cabins, 80% have an ocean view, and 64% have private balconies they are quite affordable. New Super Family cabins sleep up to six people (two interconnecting triples)at a fixed price regardless of the number of occupants. All cabins have single beds that can be converted into a double bed, air conditioning, bathroom with shower, interactive television, radio, telephone, internet connection (for a fee), minibar, and safe. Super family cabins sleep up to six people and comprise of two connecting triple cabins, two bathrooms and two balconies. All cabins and staterooms are modern, comfortable and very stylish. For all cabins continental breakfast is complimentary from 7.30 to 10 am, while room service snacks can be bought at other times. For suites a basket of fruit is provided at embarkation, and replenished daily.

Food and Dining

The ship has four restaurants and two buffet areas. The two-deck La Reggia Restaurant is set-table set-time venue with Mediterranean cuisine and always-available “slow food” – spaghetti, chicken breast, salmon fillets and vegetable of the day. For breakfast and lunch there is free seating, though be prepared to sit with guests using another language. The alternative restaurant Villa Verde Restaurant is also traditional, offering an assorted Mediterranean menu, including light choices and options that are always available. The ship's L'Olivo, an a la carte speciality restaurant, provides food from 14 countries located in the Mediterranean region. For spicy Mexican cuisine Tex Mex Santa Fe is the right choice. The full-view kitchen completes the traditional atmosphere of this restaurant. All the alternative dining venues charge on an à la carte basis at reasonable prices.

Entertainment

The Strand Theatre is a state-of-the-art 1600 seat venue and its twice-nightly productions have received high acclaim. Some productions may be short, just 30 minutes. Catch a movie in the 4D Cinema. Dance late at Club 33 Disco or have fun at the Royal Palm Casino. For the young set there’s the Graffitti Disco Teen and the video games room Virtual World.
