The ship has a single two decks high dining room – the Normandie Restaurant – with a choice of fixed-time dining at two seating times, or flexible “Your Time Dining”. Dining assignments can be booked before the cruise. There’s one formal dinner, so come prepared to dress up. Menus change daily and service is excellent. Complimentary espresso, cappuccino and lattes are served in the dining room after a meal. Children have their own menu, plus pizzas and icecream all day.

For a treat reserve a place at the 12-seat Chef’s Table that includes a tour of the galley. Nouveau Restaurant (dinner only for an additional cover charge) is a superb fine-dining experience not to be missed. Breakfast and lunch are open seating. Seaday Brunch (on sea days) allows you to sleep in. The Lido Restaurant is a casual buffet with sections that include small buffet counters, salad counters, a dessert counter, a 24-hour pizzeria, fast food, ice cream/frozen yoghurt station, and deli. Bonsai Sushi is another specialty restaurant for lunch and dinner. The ship offers 24-hour room service (for a small fee), ranging from basic continental-style breakfast fare to a variety of sandwiches and desserts.

Hot coffee is available at drinks stations throughout at no cost, but the offerings at the specialty coffee bar near the pizzeria, as well as the Café in the lower promenade area, are extra. Night is the time for late buffet snacks, R-rated comedy, Raphael’s Lounge for jazz, the Ivory Piano Bar for sing along, and Gotham Lounge for live music in the evening.

There is something for everyone. The Taj Mahal Main Show Lounge, spanning three decks, presents large production shows and cabaret acts backed by a live show band. There’s an alternative show lounge, Butterflies Lounge, on the lowest deck.
Activities
Daytime activities include the customary art auctions, karaoke, "game show mania," ballroom dancing, comedians, bingo, library and Internet café. Adults have the large action-packed Winner’s Club Casino. There’s a mini-golf course, jogging track, and deck games. Entertainment extends to the humongous Green Thunder Waterslide and pools.

Take an aerobics class, work out in the gym, refresh with a beauty treatment and massage.
Kids
Kids aged 2-5 can join the Penguin Colony where they can engage in musical icebergs and ocean bingo. The Stingrays are for kids aged 6-8 they enjoy pirate games nights, salt art and can even design their own aquarium. The sharks offer kids aged 9-11 a chance to play Marine Life Trivia, create a giant ocean mural and get the heart pumping with volleyball and soccer. Circle C allows teens from 12-14 to chill out and make new friends, with dance parties, games and outdoor movies. Club O2 is for the 15-17-year-olds to hang out, play games, sing karaoke and just have fun with like-minded teens and escape the parents for a few hours.

Cabins

The 24 cabin categories include interior staterooms, ocean-view rooms, ocean rooms with French doors (but no balcony), ocean rooms with private balcony, and four grades of suites. Eighty percent of the cabins are outside, and 80 percent of those staterooms have private balconies. Each cabin has a gift amenity basket in its bathroom. Standard cabins are a good size and equipped with all the basics. Most with twin beds can be converted to queen-size bed. Some cabins can accommodate a third and fourth person. Good design and soft lighting add to a feeling of spaciousness in interior staterooms.

All staterooms include flat-screen television, safe, hair dryer, bathrobes to wear during your cruise, and Carnival Comfort Bed with plush mattresses, good quality duvets, linens and pillows. There is a wide range of balcony staterooms, and the best staterooms are those with wrap-around views. Suites are larger in size, with walk-in closet, a good-sized bathroom and lounge area, and whirlpool tub. Choose from Junior Suite, Grand Suite, Vista Suite, and Ocean Suite. Suites come with priority check-in. Many cabins have upper and lower bunk beds. There are no single cabins, and 16 wheelchair-accessible cabins. There are self-service laundry rooms with washing machines, dryers, irons and ironing board.)
