Radiance of the Seas
In the northern summer Radiance sails between Vancouver and Seward (Alaska), 7-nights each way, to view the glaciers and fjords of the Inside Passage. Of the 1,050 cabins, 813 are outside and more than 71 percent of those have balconies. Staterooms range widely from standard cabin to over-the-top grand suites complete with piano. Standard in all cabins are two twin beds that convert to a queen, a mini-fridge, and television with an interesting assortment of channels. There's an in-room reservations system that can book everything from room service to shore excursions. Room service options are available around the clock via 24-hour menus. Families should book far ahead to get a family-friendly stateroom during school vacations.

Radiance of the Seas is one of four 90,090 GT Radiance class cruise ships. In service since 2001, she carries 2112 passengers. A striking feature of the ship is the nearly three acres of exterior glass employed in its design - including glass elevators that span 12 decks giving ocean views. From every public space you are likely to see the seascape wherever you turn your head. The main dining room, Cascades, is an elegant, two-level restaurant featuring a grand staircase. Alternative pay-extra restaurants include Chops Grille, and Portofino, an upscale Euro-Italian restaurant. Eat buffet-style in the Windjammer Café, or try fast food at the Seaview Café. Watch passers-by in the airy atrium The Centrum, withdraw in the restful library, or have pre-dinner cocktails in one of the many bars. Find entertainment in the three-level Aurora Theatre, the Hollywood Odyssey nightclub, the Cinema, Casino Royale, or one of the many clubs. Don’t miss the African-themed Solarium, self-leveling pool tables, and rock-climbing wall, all part of the spa and fitness options. Family and children amenities are five-star. Royal Caribbean attracts passengers who are looking for an affordable, active vacation.
