Island Princess
In May Island Princess relocates to the Alaskan fjord and glacier coast, with 7-night voyages between Vancouver and Anchorage. During the northern winter starting October Island Princess returns to the Panama/Caribbean circuit ex Fort Lauderdale. Ninety percent of the staterooms have ocean views with over 700 balconies, far above industry standards. Twenty cabins are wheelchair accessible. Mid-priced suites compare more than favourably with motel accommodation, amenities and service. Balconies give privacy and can be joined with other balconies when travelling in a group.

Island Princess was launched in 2003 at 91,627 GT and carries 1970 passengers. The vessel is a destination in itself, glitzy, and though large gives a sense of spaciousness. Two lower decks are dedicated to public rooms away from corridors; then there is the open space of the courts and game areas of the top deck. Operational efficiency saves travellers frustration from lost waiting time. Dining ranges from formal to casual, with excellent cuisine (take a galley tour to see behind-the-scenes), and for a cover charge enjoy an 18-course meal at Sabastini’s Italian Trattoria. There are so many eating areas, and the choices of “Anytime Dining”. Entertainment offerings will satisfy every guest’s expectations. Educational programs focus on geography. The focus on fitness, with gym, exercise and beauty stands out. Keep up your distance walking routine, and practise your putting on the 9-hole course. While passengers are generally older, each young age group has five-star special facilities and programs.
