Ventura
Ventura operates out of Southampton for the British market. Tours of 7- and 14-nights venture to the Western Mediterranean, Canary Isles and Iberian Peninsula, and Norway’s fjords. From late October 2010 until March 2011 Ventura relocates to Bridgetown (Barbados) and runs 14-night cruises of the Eastern Caribbean. As this ship is targeted at families, a large number of cabins have sofas that convert into a bed for a third person, or sofa beds and beds that pull down from the ceiling that will hold up to four people. All cabins come with tea-and-coffee-making facilities, are made up in the morning, have a nightly turn-down service, and store your drinks bought ashore in the empty fridge.

Ventura entered service in 2008 as the largest cruise ship built in Britain at 116,000 GT and carries 3,092 passengers. Its size allows for a whole range of innovations: toys and games, mp3 players, and appearances by the children's character Noddy; children's play areas and two pools specifically for families; circus workshops and a giant Scalextric track; and bungee jumping! The traditional card room, library seating, and art auctions are missing. Diners can choose from 11 cafes and restaurants and 12 bars and lounges. Ventura dining offers two-sitting fixed dining rooms, Freedom dining (P&O's new eat-when-you-like plan), self-service buffet, and two speciality restaurants (with cover charges). During the day the burger bar and pizzeria are open by the pool. Ventura also has the biggest gym of any P&O ship, with the usual equipment. This is a British vessel with a mix of families and seniors. Formal nights mean formal in the public rooms, other nights mean smart casual.
