Aurora
From May 2010 Aurora offers 12- to 18-night cruises in the Mediterranean, Baltic Sea, and North Atlantic ocean (including Greenland and Iceland). From September some cruises cross the Atlantic to New England and the Caribbean. In January 2011 Aurora again embarks on a 95-night round trip to Australia, west via Panama and returning east via Cape Horn. All staterooms come with tea and coffee-making equipment, air-conditioning, fridges and TV's. Many have baths and showers; all have twin beds that can be converted into doubles. Mini-suites and suites get a bigger selection of bathroom amenities, including shampoo and conditioner, a DVD player, binoculars, trouser press, ironing board and indoor Jacuzzi bath; suites add a Hi-Fi system and butler.

Aurora entered service in 2000, was refitted in 2007, and at 76,152 GRT carries 1,868 passengers. She is built for fast cross-ocean voyages. Aurora has ample outside deck space – ideal for long voyages – and enough inside rooms to provide a busy programme of activities, from foreign language and dance classes to lectures and art auctions. There’s also a library, cinema and casino. Decor appeals to the older Brits. There is a two-sitting fixed dining system in the restaurants, and dress codes are enforced in the dining rooms and in the main bars in the evenings. Alternative dining is at the indoor self-serve buffet or al fresco, as well as a number of other eateries, lounges and bars. Order the best burgers at sea, plus hot dogs, fries and other fast foods at the Sidewalk Café. Evening entertainment is greatly varied for long voyages. Aurora attracts families during the school holidays, but essentially it is loved by a more elderly audience who prefer a traditional cruising experience.
