Also, there are no fees or late charges, while payments are always flexible to suit your own budget. We recommend payments be made by direct deposit for your convenience and to further reduce your bank fees.
Most importantly, all your Layby payments are protected at all times by Australia's Travel Compensation Fund.
Your cruise specialist is an expert on layby plans and can answer all your questions! Australian cruise/travel agencies are required to display their physical office address which consumers can view and verify in Google Maps.
If you can't find it on their website and communications, then chances are they hiding something from you.
At best they are a backyard operation with limited resources, difficult to track down when things go wrong.
Consumers are warned to stay away from any booking agency that doesn't display their business address - it's just not worth the risk!

Life aboard Pacific Pearl
In the growing Australian market Pacific Pearl’s standard of cuisine, restaurants, public spaces and leisure activities maintains its excellence, in keeping with her sister ships Pacific Jewel and Pacific Dawn. Her 2012 refurbishment added new carpets throughout, and touches to the bars, mini-suites and balcony cabins. She is ideally suited to young couples, singles of all ages and families, with plenty of open deck space, two large pools, wading pool, and extensive child and teenager facilities including indoor/outdoor play areas located aft. Pacific Pearl features a distinctive forward domed and curved observation lounge offering spectacular views. The crew, service, food and entertainment receive strong reviews from guests. P&O cruises offer relaxation with a touch of luxury, aimed at middle Australia. Gratuities are included in the fare.
Accommodation
Staterooms come in four categories – Mini-Suites, Outside with balcony, Outside and Inside – and 14 price levels (higher decks and extra space costing more). Many cabins have a third or even a fourth bed available. All cabins are spacious, with walk-in robes, and twin beds mostly convertible to queen size. Facilities include refrigerator, kettle, personal safe, bathrobes and toiletries, and an interactive video system. The décor is neat and attractive. About three-quarters of the cabins are outside cabins having a large window (or porthole in the case of a few).
Interconnecting cabins for families and groups allow quad-quad, twin-quad and twin-twin bedding. On the upper decks 64 Mini Suites and Outside staterooms come with balconies. The Mini Suites have a generous ensuite with bathtub, an entertainment area, and extended balcony. Eight cabins are wheelchair accessible. Cots are available for children under three years. Note that room-service meals come at extra charge.
Food and Dining
Dining-wise, there are four eateries onboard Pacific Pearl. Dining is where and when you like: “Your Choice Dining” at the main buffet dining rooms, Plantation and Waterfront, high up on the ship with great sea views. Expect big ship banquet catering, and tables cater for four, six or eight. The décor is bright and extremely colourful and bright. Dress up for the formal dinner/s. At night Plantation serves Asian and Oriental themed buffets. There is one alternative (pay extra) restaurant. The line has recruited its first ever celebrity chef, Luke Mangan, who has added his touches to the menu in the Salt Grill restaurant, a steak and seafood venue.
There’s also an outdoor BBQ for lunch and dinner on the pool deck. Food is modern British with a touch of Mediterranean, and vegetarian dishes are always available. The crew have a name for friendliness and the food selection is plentiful and varied. Themed bars and lounges are aplenty.
Entertainment
The main attraction is, of course, sailing to the South Pacific! You will have a number of sea days, and there’s plenty of activity day and night to keep you entertained. The Marquee Theatre, two decks high, is the main venue for production shows and major cabaret acts. Other entertainment includes laser light shows in the Atrium, circus and acrobat performances, the Let Me Entertain You game show, adults-only Sit Down Comedy Club, and forward on the top deck is The Dome with dance floor. There are five bars and a casino, much live music and karaoke. The shopping arcade offers fine jewellery, crystal, perfumes and fashion apparel. The top deck has as a big-screen for day and night entertainment. The shopping arcade offers fine jewellery, crystal, perfumes and fashion apparel.
By day guests can join in a variety of organised activities, including hosted deck games and a great range of activity classes. The sun deck has two pools complete with lounges. On a lower deck is the ocean-view Aqua Health, Spa and Fitness centre and Gym. The Children’s Centres that cater for ages 3 to 10 years is situated at the rear of the top deck. HQ and HQ+ are hangouts for 11 to 17 year olds. Leisure spaces include jogging track, whirlpool spas, library, medical centre, gym and health spa.
