Marina Cruises

Marina entered service in January 2011 and, at 66,084 GT, is the largest of Oceania’s fleet. The vessel is decorated internally with rich woods, Italian marble, granite, wool carpets and leather. Intimate lounges abound, keeping the Line’s small-ship feel, and the layout makes it easy to find your way around.Elegant touches start with the magnificent Lalique Grand Staircase, 2000-book library, and three boutiques. Dress is intentionally informal, with an accent on personalised service and five-star cuisine. Guests are generally older, well-travelled, and convivial. The ambiance resembles that of a private country club - casual, yet elegant. The onboard ambiance and experience maintains the Oceania tradition that attracts a high proportion of guests to return.

    The Grand Dining Room is exactly that, with its high ceiling, chandelier and rich furnishings after the style of Europe’s five-star restaurants. Cuisine is European Continental-style, and menus change daily. Two new gourmet restaurants are Jacques, for Jacques Pépin’s French cuisine, and Red Ginger for Pan-Asian classics. Complimentary restaurants include the signature Polo Grill for steak and seafood, and Toscana offering genuine Tuscan cuisine and wines.

    Priveé may be reserved for up to 10 guests, who will savour a gourmand-inspired seven-course Menu Degustation. La Reserve by Wine Spectator is an industry-first onboard wine-tasting centre for gourmands (maximum 24, by reserve and extra charge). The lido Terrace Café – indoors and outdoors – is the ship’s self-service buffet that transforms in the evenings to Tapas on the Terrace, servicing an eclectic mix of dishes. For a casual snack relax informally at Waves Grill, which serves a broad selection poolside grill. High Tea is served every afternoon at 4 pm. Complimentary room service is available from a separate menu, and includes continental breakfast, sandwiches and desserts. For a hot breakfast the Terrace Café is best. Cabins

Most cabins have an outside view, and two-thirds have a private balcony. The standard interior and outside cabins are quite elegant, with twin/queen-size bed and ‘best beds at sea’, bathrobes, plenty of built-in cabinets, flat-screen television, DVD player, writing desk, satellite phone, wireless Internet, and personal safe. Décor is attractive and muted with dark wood accents. Maid service is twice daily and chocolates come with a nightly turn-down service. Ocean view staterooms have a sofa, separate tub and shower, and full height panoramic windows.

Speedy room service is available from a separate in-room dining menu. Veranda Staterooms are most popular for their furnished outdoor area, and Concierge Verandah Staterooms (and above) include a wireless laptop computer (charges apply). These accommodations are spacious, with large marble and granite-clad bathroom with separate tub and shower. A Penthouse Suite (39m2) is much like that of a world-class hotel room, with expanded living area, in-suite dining, and ocean views across the teak deck verandah. Suites come with butler service, priority check-in and dining reservations, and a welcoming bottle of Champagne. Oceania Suites (93m2) are high atop the ship, and come with 50" LCD television, private Jacuzzi, king-size bed, and course-by-course in-suite dining. Vista Suites (111 to 139 m2) at the bow have six interior rooms, including a second bathroom for guests. Each of the three Owner's Suites (186m2) span the entire width of the stern, and their presentation is fit for royalty. These are suites for entertaining friends.)
