Insignia
In the northern summer Insignia travels Europe’s North Atlantic coast to the Arctic, and in the southern summer heads for South America. In between she travels the Mediterranean – around 50 ports – to some of the great ancient sites, many not visited by other vessels. Cruises are usually around 14 nights, with the Grand Circle (including Cairo) 35 nights. A large number of cabins have balconies, and comfortable beds are the best part of each room. Cabins are on the small side, made up for by affordability. Oceania Line offers some of the best beds at sea. Dining is open-seated with excellent menus in four main restaurants. The two alternative restaurants (at no extra cost) are also superb. Don’t miss High Tea served at 4 pm daily. Speedy room service is available from a separate in-room dining menu.

MS Insignia entered service in 1998 and was refurbished in 2004. At 30,277 GT and carrying only 684 passengers, this almost ‘small ship’ sports many big-ship features. The comfortable public leather seating, teak loungers, and gorgeous library with ceiling murals and telescopes spoil guests at sea, compete with the off-beat port-intensive itineraries. While this is not a family ship, children enjoy the ports by day and hot tubs by night. Past guests award 5 stars to Insignia in most categories. This vessel is up-scale and gives good value for money. The ambiance resembles that of a private country club - casual, yet elegant.
