Prinsendam
In mid May 2010 crosses the Atlantic from Fort Lauderdale to Amsterdam (21 nights). From May till August she sails out of Greenwich (UK) and Amsterdam to the Baltic Sea, the fjords of Norway, French/Iberian coast, circumnavigates the UK, and across the Arctic Circle to “the top of the world.” Cruises range from 14 to 36 nights. From late August cruises ex Greenwich visit the Mediterranean, and explorer voyages reach the sites of ancient cities in the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea. In November she returns to Fort Lauderdale to tour the Eastern Caribbean and a very special 23-night return trip reaching far up the Amazon River. From January through March 2011 Prinsendam makes a grand circumnavigation of South America, followed by a port-intensive tour of the Mediterranean, North-West Africa and the Caribbean. The Prinsendam features ocean views in 93 percent of her staterooms, and balconies in 38 percent. Cabins are roomy, with two twins or one queen bed, sofa convertible to third bed, flat screen TV, and bathrooms with tubs and showers (no tubs with inside cabins). Upgrade to Ocean-view, Verandah or Suite. Room service is excellent, including dine-in service. Some staterooms accommodate singles, and passengers with disabilities. For meals, select set-seating dinner in the striking La Fontaine Dining Room, or walk-in at any time. The Lido, the ship's buffet area, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For an additional charge choose the outstanding alternative restaurant The Pinnacle Grill. This is a ship for more mature travellers who want classic style cruising and contemporary conveniences.

Launched in 1988, and last refurbished in 2007, MS Prinsendam measures 37,983 GT and carries 793 passengers. This is an explorer ship, designed to berth at ports inaccessible to larger cruise vessels. She has all HAL Signature of Excellence enhancements to her public rooms and staterooms. Mid-ship, guests will find a special signature sculpture suspended in a soaring three-story atrium that features etched fish, turtles and dolphins climbing a stunning cylinder of Bolle glass, lit with state-of-the-art fiber optics. Enrichment and entertainment by day include its demo kitchen and wine tasting, and a favourite focal point is the Explorations Café. The Microsoft Digital workshops will teach you to make a DVD of your trip or create your own web page or blog. Evening entertainment includes bars, a disco, and song and dance shows and classical concerts in the Queen’s Lounge. A wide variety of shore excursions can be booked for reasonable costs. Fitness activities include pool, gym, jogging course, and of course Spa and Salon treatments. Club HAL caters for 3 to 12 year olds, and The Loft for teens. Prinsendam appeals to well-educated, well-travelled passengers in their late 50s and older. Come dress-prepared for formal nights' dining and dancing.
