Life aboard Costa neoClassica
Costa neoClassica is based in Savona Italy. Until late May 2016 she offers 12-night cruises that visit Naples and Sicily in Italy; Kalamata, Nafplion, Volos and Athens in Greece; and Marseilles in France. From June she runs 11-night cruises to ten holiday ports in Italy, Malta and France. This is a relaxing port-a-day Mediterranean experience.

Costa Classica was built in 1991 and underwent major refurbishing in 2001 and 2005. At 52,950 GT she carries 1, 680 passengers. Visually impressive is the incredible amount of sculpture, original painting, hangings, murals and crafts, even for a Costa vessel. There is an excellent range of public rooms, lounges and bars. The ship appeals to young and young-at-heart, who enjoy lots of noise, outdoor eating, and late nights. Costa places a high premium on families.

Accommodation
Two-thirds of the cabins have an outside view. Standard Outside-view/Interior cabins are of generous size, attractively furnished, with two lower beds, satellite TV, AC, mini-bar, hairdryer and phone. Some cabins have one or two extra pull-down berths for families. Room service is 24 hours daily. There are no single cabins, and six wheelchair-accessible cabins.

The 11 price categories include 10 very spacious suites. These have a private rounded balcony, marble-clad bathrooms with Jacuzzi bathtub, and separate shower enclosure. Suite guests receive daily delivery of the lunch and dinner menus for in-suite dining, pillow menu, bathrobe and slippers, and kit of bathroom products. Other specials include fresh flowers, fruit daily, butler service, and preferred seating in the main dining rooms.

Food and Dining
The Tivoli Dining Room, with its European Renaissance atmosphere, has two dinner seatings, and table sizes from two to eight guests. Cuisine is international with Italian specialties every day: pastas, veal dishes and seafood are popular, as are dishes that reflect the regions the ship cruises. Desserts are Midnight Buffets are exceptional. La Trattoria is the place for breakfast and a lunch buffet. The outdoor Al Fresco Cafe, with its teak deck under a canvas sailcloth awning, is lavish and varied.

Try Il Dolce Amore Patisserie for pastries and after dinner drinks. The informal La Taverna Pizza is a bar offering freshly made pizza, with different specialties each day. Excellent cappuccino and espresso coffees, served in china cups, are always available in various bars around the ship. If you are working out in the gym, a very pleasant Juice Bar serves smoothies and other nonalcoholic concoctions.

Entertainment
For evening entertainment there is the Colosseo Theatre spread over two decks. Production shows, dancing, travel lectures and movies are held here amid an impressive Roman setting. A popular meeting point is the main lounge's Piazza Navona Grand Bar. The Galileo Disco and Observatory at the top of the ship gives 360 degree views by day and late-night dancing. Each seven day cruise has two formal nights and a Toga Night; the rest is mostly resort casual.

On board are two pools, four Jacuzzis, outdoor jogging track, fitness centre and gymnasium. The Caracalla Spa includes a Wellness Centre, treatment rooms, sauna and Roman bath. Costa Kids Club offers extensive programs for youngsters, and guaranteed relaxation for parents. For teens there is the Squok Club with PlayStation entertainment.
