Where she sails
Celebrity Infinity crosses the Atlantic in May 2014 to sail the waters of the UK, Iceland, Norway, and the Atlantic coast of the Continent. She sails out of Harwick, easily reached by train from London. In mid-October cross the Atlantic to Florida (at a superbly low fare, and a great way to bridge two continents). In November we can highly recommend crossing the Panama Canal west or east, one of the great opportunities of cruising. From December through to March 2015 join the growing interest in South America – glaciers, fjords, Cape Horn, and beautiful ports and national capitals. In South American waters you’ll hear lots of Spanish conversation; in Caribbean and European waters its English.

Celebrity Infinity — Ship Review Rating: 4.3 out of 5 based on 4 ratings.

Life aboard Celebrity Infinity
Celebrity Infinity, at 90,228 GT, carries 2,170 passengers, and is ranked in the best large cruise ship category, styled after the great ocean liners. Launched in 2001, she boasts a wow factor along with a fresh and unique décor. She was refitted in December 2011 with AquaClass accommodations, Blu and Qsine restaurants, and Celebrity iLounge. Passengers give her 4-star ratings for most categories. Dining caters for all tastes, and a wide range of additionally-charged options. Relax in solitude, or select your level of conversation and ambiance. Daytime activities include lectures, quizzes, auctions, magic and the like. For evening entertainment there are production shows in the Celebrity Theatre, soloists at the cafes, bars and pools, and cinema. All child and teen ages have dedicated program selections and centres. Dress is smart casual, with some formal nights.

Accommodation
Four out of five cabins have an outside view, and of these three-quarters have a private balcony. Standard cabins have a sofa or convertible sofa bed, twin beds that convert to a double bed, plenty of storage space, personal safe, mini-bar/refrigerator, interactive TV, and good-size bathroom. The cabins are nicely decorated and appealing with warm wood-finish furniture. You’ll be provided with robe, tote bag, bath products, hairdryer and safe, and twice-daily room service. Some balcony staterooms are interconnecting. Suites have more space, butler service, better amenities and personal service. Those at the stern are in a prime location. There are no single cabins, and 26 wheelchair-accessible cabins.

Concierge Class cabins (between standard and top-grade suites) come with extras such as priority services, daily fresh fruit, and a range of other niceties. AquaClass staterooms have exclusive access to Blu, a specialty health restaurant, and the Persian Garden relaxation deck, as well as doorstep entry to the spa facilities. All Suites have butler service that includes all food requests delivered, free specialty coffees, welcoming sparkling wine, video library service, personalised stationary, and many other personal services. Depending on the cruise length, some alternative dining is complimentary. Penthouse and Royal Suites include a separate whirlpool bathtub and a whirlpool on the private veranda, plus mini-bar bonus spirits and mixers. Penthouse Suites with wrap-around balcony overlook the stern. These come with timber and marble furnishing; separate dining area with butler’s pantry and stocked wine bar; master bedroom with king-size bed and walk-in closet; and an all-marble bathroom with whirlpool bath.

Food and Dining
The two-deck Trellis Restaurant, with its grand staircase and musicians’ gallery overlooking the sea through a huge glass wall, offers excellent meals and service at two dinner seatings. The décor adds to the fine dining experience. The first alternative dining venue, the SS United States (reservations-only, extra cost), serves classic French cuisine in absolute style – allow three hours. The other alternative is Qsine (“Cuisine”) with an iPad menu. AquaSpa guests dine at Blu with a Mediterranean menu. A great selection of crêpes is available at Bistro on Five. In-room dining is available 24/7.

For casual meals the self-service buffet Oceanview Café features six serving lines, and nearby are freshly-made pasta, grill, sushi and pizza. The outdoor Grill next to the pool serves hamburgers, hot dogs, and daily specials. The Café al Bacio & Gelateria is the place to be seen, with an extensive range of Italian coffee (pay), chocolates, pastries and cakes. There are multiple bars and lounges throughout the ship. Beverage and Dining Packages and special diet requests can be pre-ordered.

Entertainment
The 900-seat Celebrity Theatre is the three-deck venue for production shows, major cabaret acts and big-screen movies. During the voyage relax in solitude, or select your level of conversation and excitement. Daytime activities include a broad range of classes and competitions. For evening entertainment there are soloists at the cafes and bars, participation in karaoke, and of course the casino. The Celebrity Life enrichment program is divided into four themes: “Taste” focuses on wine appreciation and cooking; “Learn” includes dance classes, language learning, and computer skills; “Revive” is the physical fitness program and spa seminars; and “Play” encompasses all the competitions, contests, and games both physical and electronic.

The AquaSpa facilities (24,000 sq.ft. and adult-only) include treatment rooms, café, thalassotherapy pool, steam and sauna room, gymnasium and so much more – this is a destination in itself. Of course the main pool and fitness facilities are available to all guests, separate from AquaSpa. Sports facilities include a jogging track, various courts, and golf simulator. Families are well supported with programs for four age groups under qualified supervision. For a fee little ones can be cared for while parents pursue their romantic lives on vacation.
