Phan Thiet is the capital of Bình Thun province, on the coast of SE Vietnam, facing the South China Sea. The village has been traditionally a fishing centre and producer of famous fish sauce, but since 1995 when tourists were drawn by an eclipse, it has developed into a national and international drawcard.
