Antalya is the capital of the Turkish Mediterranean Coast. It is a sprawling modern city, but Old Antalya which surrounds the Roman harbour with its historic museum, and its many buildings now restored as homes, boutique hotels, inns and restaurants that date back to Ottoman and even Roman times, give it its own distinctive atmosphere.
There are numerous fascinating archaeological sites to be visited, or take a day excursion to one of the wonderful National Parks, and even experience some white water rafting, or you can simply enjoy the dramatic sea and mountain views. Enjoy the magnificent waterfalls and even walk behind a cascade at the Upper Duden Waterfalls, truly a thrilling experience.
Undoubtedly the area is best known for its beaches and the associated activities such as scuba diving, wind surfing and paragliding, but it has to remembered, that in the months of March and April one can snow ski in the morning just 50 km away, have lunch, and return for an enjoyable swim.
