Cruises from Shortland Islands

Shortland Island is the largest of the volcanic Shortland Island Group in the northwestern Solomon Islands. Shortland harbour was a major WW2 Japanese seaplane base with moorings down the shoreline next to Shortland Island and a seaplane ramp and service area at Nila on Poperang Island to the east. Remains of wartime bunkers and fortifications are visible around the area to this day.
