Cruises from Kostolac

Kostolac is a small Serbian town on the Danube river in the Branicevo District. It lies 60 km E of the capital Belgrade, and 20 km from the border with Romania. This is a farming district, with the chimneys of two coal-fired power plants on the skyline, and a giant open cut coal mine to the east of the town. A 4 km walk from the river through town takes you to a canal beach Topoljar, with sun shades and swimming.

Kostolac is best known for the archaeological site some 10 km by road to the east of the town, that contains the remains of the major Roman outpost city of Viminacium.
