Cruises from Isle Of Pines

Isle of Pines is a stunning islet off the coast of New Caledonia’s main island. Isle of Pines is known for its white sand beaches, crystal clear blue waters and of course, tall pine trees! Melanesian people lived on the islet for over 2000 years before James Cook saw the islet in 1774 and gave the island its name due to the New Caledonian pines and their slender form. Isle of Pines has a rich history which is reflected throughout the local parts of the island. From the Melaniesian explorers to the 19th century colonies that housed deportees, there are multiple monuments, cemeteries and plenty of other sights to discover while you're here on the island!

The Isle of Pines sure lives up to its nickname “The closest island to Paradise” due to its absolutely amazing swimming areas, snorkelling, diving, hikes and cultural tours. You can lay on the beach and soak up the sun, enjoy a light meal at the nearby restaurant called Restaurant Ku-Bugny, visit the local markets and meet the locals or arrange a cruise tour up to N’ga peak where you can take in the spectacular view of the island from below. Due to New Caledonia’s semi-tropical climate, it is mostly warm with comfortable temperatures all year round. The temperatures average around the mid 20s. Read more

To access Isle of Pines, the cruiseship will anchor out at sea close to shore then a tender boat, a small enclosed boat, will ferry you to the nearby jetty. Be sure to note what time you are required back so you don’t miss the ship!
