Tawau is located on the SE coast of Sabah East Malaysia, which faces the Celebes Sea. Tawau is well known for being the third largest producer of cocoa bean in the world, after the Ivory Coast and Ghana, as well as being home to the Proboscis monkeys which live in the mangroves and riverside forests along the Tawau River.
