Cruises from Nosy Hao

Nosy Hao (‘Hao Island’: Malagasy; also known as ‘Murder Island’) is an island lying off the SW coast of Madagascar. It is located 5.4 km due west of the village of Andavadoaka on the Madagascan mainland. The island is just 2.1 km N-S, and a maximum of 400 m E-W. However, the reef surrounding all sides measures 5.6 km by 1.8 km, which is much larger than the island. From the reef the water depth increases deeply to the west beneath the Mozambique Channel with its strong currents.
