Cruises from Limbe
Limbe, founded in 1858 on the southern slopes of Mount Cameroon by the British missionary Alfred Saker, is a seaside city in Cameroon, tucked away in the far NE of the Gulf of Guinea. It lies on the Cameroon line of volcanoes, which extend from the African mainland, SW into the Atlantic along a chain of islands. Visible twenty-two kilometres inland from Limbe is twin-peaked Mount Cameroon, an active volcano of 4040 m, and which erupted as recently as February 2012.
