Cruises from Iturup Island
Iturup is the largest and northernmost island of the southern Kuril Islands, near the coast of Japan’s northern island Hokkaido. The town of Kurilsk, the administrative centre of Kurilsky District, is located roughly midway along the western coast. Although Japan claims this island, it is currently controlled by Russia which forced the Japanese who were living there to leave at the end of WWII.
