Malabo is the capital and main port of Equatorial Guinea, situated on Bioko Island in the Gulf of Guinea. Bioko Island is 240 km NE of mainland Equatorial Guinea, on the other side of the equator. Official languages are Spanish and French, and main exports are oil and gas. The island is of volcanic origin, with rich soils that are excellent for any tropicl crop.
