The island’s history is ancient, including Neolithic and Bronze Ages, Viking settlement, Gaelic culture, and Scottish and English rule. Manx language is in revival. Perhaps the island is best known for the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (‘The TT road race, May and June), and tail-challenged Manx cats.
