Resolute is a small Inuit hamlet on Cornwallis Island in Nunavut, Canada. It is situated at the northern end of Resolute Bay and the NW Passage. It is also one of the coldest inhabited places in the world. As in most other northern communities, the roads and most of the terrain are all gravel. This Arctic hamlet often serves as a starting point for international scientific research teams and extreme adventure expeditions to the North Pole. Subsequently, it remains a vitally important base of operations and military training for the Canadian Forces. However, local arts and crafts, unique stone and ivory carvings, plus beautiful handmade traditional clothing are also available at the Tudjaat Co-op and at Resolute Bay Sunset.
