Cruises from Half Moon Island
Half Moon Island is part of the South Shetland Islands, just north of Livingstone Island in the Antarctic Peninsula region. It has a sizable rookery of Chinstrap penguins and the level of activity in a penguin colony is absolutely amazing. Whales are often seen patrolling the shores, so it not surprising to see the remains of an old whaling boat. There are also nesting Antarctic terns and Kelp gulls, as well as numerous fur seals, which can look just like the scattered rocks!
