Ships visiting Australia & S-E Asia: Norwegian Star (Summer 2016-7) | Norwegian Jewel (Summer 2017-8)

Norwegian Cruise Line, based in Florida, was the originator of modern cruising and has a strong record for cruising innovations. The company is best known for its Freestyle Cruising concept, which means that there are no set times or seating arrangements for meals, nor is formal attire required. On its newest ships, NCL includes amenities like luxury villas, martini and Champagne bars, interconnecting cabins, onboard bowling alleys, and electronic restaurant reservation systems. NCL vessels depart from many mainland US ports, and in the northern summer sail the Mediterranean and Baltic Seas. Norwegian Jade operates full time out of Barcelona. NCL is the only cruise line to offer year-round Hawaiian itineraries. For passengers who want exclusive use of certain areas and personalised service, book into The Haven. Bring only sealed bottled water aboard.

NCL’s 13 vessels constitute a very modern fleet, each with distinctive artwork on its hull. NCL is serious about entertainment and the newer ships are particularly welcoming to children. From babes to teens there are age-specific supervised programs, and supervision on port days and late evenings to allow parents special time to themselves. The Haven Garden Villas suites are the largest at sea, featuring three bedrooms, a private sunning deck, two private steam rooms and a six-person hot tub, and stunning views, supported by a concierge team. Passengers are primarily American, across all demographics. NCL has cabins and lounge specially designed for solo travellers. Conde Narst Traveller named NCL in the top three of both Large and Midsize Ship categories of The World's Best Cruise Lines: Readers' Choice Awards. Cruise Critic Editors’ Pick 2014 awarded NCL ‘Best Entertainment’. Pizza-lovers note, delivery service is now 24/7 fleet-wide.
