Nawiliwili is a large beach park and port on the SE of the island of Kauai in the Hawaiian Islands. One of the wettest spots on Earth, with an annual average rainfall of over 11 meters, it is located on the east side of Mount Wai'ale'ale. Vairao is a small port on the SW peninsula coast of Tahiti in French Polynesia in the South Pacific. The island of Tahiti is like a figure 8 – the smaller part called Tahiti Iti, or “little Tahiti.” (The main part of the island Tahiti Nui or “big Tahiti” is the location of the capital Pape’ete).
